Voskopojë a small village in Korçë country Albaina we came across this man Petrika Nikolla. Like so many of the people from his country he greeted us with a warm smile
and open conversation. A fabrication welder by trade he was working on an order commissioned by a hotel in the city. After some fluent conversation in Albanian with “my translator” (Renees' father Tane) he kindly agreed to
let me stay and take some photos of him at work. Walking into his workshop felt like taking a step back in time, a beautiful old traditional stone masonry building that complemented his basic arc welder and mask. Voskopojë or
Moscopole was once a city in the 1700’s, now a small town it's a fascinating place to walk though. Amongst its streets you discover the ancient ruins and churches that still hold connections to its past. If you, like me, love art history there are some stunning old fresco’s from the 1720’s in the churches that scatter the town
Living a balanced lifestyle between in between Tairua, Auckland and the world. There is nothing more I love than to spend my weekend heading out and seeking adventure. It’s why I spend my time between, Coromandel and Auckland. Adventure is literally at my doorstep. Be it exploring our beautiful lush bush, surfing our hidden beaches, fishing in our abundant sea, bombing into our fresh river or SUPing in beautiful estuary’s. An’t no place like home.
